Seeing Addis Ababa through new eyes: Abebe’s story

Abebe lost his eyesight as a child. But he has managed to teach himself several crafts and gotten himself to the 9th grade studying night shifts at a local public high school. He pays 800 birr every month for his small one-room home, supporting himself and a friend.

He is passionate about crafts and about supporting and teaching fellow members of the Ethiopian Association for the Blind. Learn more about his story in our photo essay.
