The leadership of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (North) has split into two rival factions, one led by the military leader Abdel-Aziz Al-Hilu and the other by the group’s chairman Malik Agar. In this podcast, Magdi El Gizouli, an observer and expert on Sudanese affairs at the Rift Valley Institute, explains what the split is about and what it could mean for war and peace in the SPLM-N territories of Blue Nile and the Nuba Mountains.
